Two months ago it was agreed at City Commission that American Tower would seek a variance for various things concerning 140 Cell Phone Tower to be placed on the DPW lot on Kennsington Road. That has not happened and won't happen today either. It seems the Cell Phone Tower people are again on Hiatus. This item was first presented to City Commission in July 2011. It was billed as a must have for Police and Fire communications. Yet every time City Commission has suggested a "next step" the the Cell Phone Tower people vanish for months on end which prompts one to wonder how important these enhanced communications to be provided by 14 story pole really are.
