City of Bloomfield Hills New Home for Sierra Club General Membership Meetings.

General Membership meetings are open to the public and free of charge. You may attend as many as you like with no obligation. They are will be held on the Thursday of the month and will not conflict with school board meetings which are usually scheduled on Thursdays later in the month.The location is the Birmingham Unitarian Club  at 38651 Woodward Avenue just North of  Lone Pine. According to the map provided the Church parking lot can be accessed from both Lone Pine and Woodward.
Of note to City Residents with small pets is "The Controversial Coyote" presentation on March 1st at 7pm. You are invited to come as early as  6:30 for light refreshments and a chance to meet your neighbors.
 The Sierra Club is about enjoying  the earth's natural features as well as preserving them. They have many trips nationally (Okefenokee  Swamp in Georgia) and internationally  to likes of Outer Mongolia (we are not kidding). In the local area they have many  weekend hiking, or birding,  or  bicycling  outings.   All have a $1.00 fee  unless otherwise noted like the  3/11 Hike and Explore  the Zoo which also has an admission fee. The  5/20 Seven Lakes State Park 6 mile Hike is $1.00  and may include an optional restaurant stop  This outing group will meet behind the CVS  Pharmacy at Square Lake and Woodward. The outing descriptions provided in The Activist published by the Southeast Michigan Group of the Sierra Club (SEMG) tells how arduous the of an activity is planned and what you should bring. The Zoo and  Seven Lakes State Park are but two of literally dozens of outings planned.
